The North Metro Arts Alliance was founded as a non-profit entity to serve
the Westminster and North-Metro communities in the areas of performancescfd logo
and visual arts, including cultural entertainment. Ultimately, NMAA strives
to enrich awareness, education and access of the arts among North Metro
residents throughout the calendar year.
The North Metro Arts Alliance is funded, in part, by the Scientific and Cultural
Facilities District in cooperation with the Adams and Jefferson County Cultural Commissions.

What is SCFD?

The Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) is a voter-created special tax district that distributes revenue generated by a 1¢ on $10 retail sales and use tax to over 300 scientific and cultural organizations in the seven-county metro Denver area. The SCFD was adopted in 1988 by metropolitan voters and has been supporting culture in the metro Denver area ever since. The District consists of Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas (excluding the cities of Castle Rock and Larkspur), and Jefferson Counties. The primary purpose of the SCFD is "to provide for the enlightenment and entertainment of the public through the production, presentation, exhibition, advancement or preservation of art, music, theatre, dance, zoology, botany, natural history, or cultural history."

2015 High School Honor Music Festival

NMAA is proud to once again host the High School Honor Music Festival, January 23 - 24. In its 8th year, the Festival provides top high school music students in Adams County the opportunity to learn from guest conductors from area universities. After a day of rehearsal, these talented young musicians and vocalists will perform a free community concert at 4pm on January 24th at Westminster High School Auditorium.

Colorado Visions Art Show

Colorado Visions, a juried exhibit of fine art by Colorado Artists at Westminster City Hall sponsored by the North Metro Arts Alliance, is accepting entry forms through March 2, 2015, for the juried exhibit of original, 2 and 3-dimensional , fine art ( no computer art ) by Colorado artists.  Entry fee is $30.00 for 3 entries. Cash awards.  Judge is well-known Colorado artist, Lorenzo Chavez. Show dates : April 13- May 26, 2015.

Missoula Children's Theatre

Auditions for the Missoula Children’s Theatre original “The Jungle Book” will be Monday, June 8th at Westminster High School from 10am-12pm, 4276 W. 68th Avenue, Westminster CO, 80030. Those auditioning should arrive at 9:45am and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition. Approximately 60 roles plus four Assistant Director roles are available for local students. All students, entering the 1st grade through 12th grade, are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Most students will rehearse approximately 4-1/2 hours each day, Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12. The Residency will be June 8th-13th, at Westminster High School, 4276 W. 68th Avenue, Westminster CO, 80030. This production is part of the Missoula Children’s Theatre’s unique international touring project. Performances will be held on Friday, June 12th at 7pm and Saturday, June 13th at 11am at the Westminster High School Auditorium.

Historic Westminster Art District - Second Saturday Art Walks 

Join us from 1 to 6pm, December 13th for holiday shopping in all galleries, refreshments and music.

Summer Concert Series

Once again, NMAA summer concerts will be held at Westminster City Park and other locations to be announced. These performances at will presented with funding assistance from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District and the City of Westminster. The highlight will be the performance of Daddyblue at the 4th of July Concert/Fireworks show. For over 10 years Daddyblue has been dazzling audiences with an unforgettable dance experience. Now Biff Gore (NBC's "The Voice")  leads this all star cast of the finest musicians in Denver.  From today's top 40 dance hits to Motown to old school Disco and Hip-Hop,  Daddyblue delivers a foot stomping Dance experience for all ages to enjoy!
