Summer Celebration Block Party
Thursday, June 18th – Irving Street Library Park 75th & Irving St – The Margarita Brothers
This great “kick-off” to the summer concert series starts at 5 pm with free hot dogs at the MAC - 3295 W 72nd Ave. Head next door to the Irving Street Library Park at 6 pm for inflatables, fun and frozen treats. The Margarita Brothers are the featured entertainment for the evening.
June 25 – City Park - 104th & Sheridan – Opie Gone Bad
Super charged and energized, Opie God Bad will have you movin’ with their own unique style of “funk-rock”. Their shows are energetic events aimed at giving fans tired legs and big smiles.
July 4th – City Park – 104th & Sheridan – Big Kahuna Beach Party
Prior to the City’s annual fireworks extravaganza – bring your blankets and beach chairs and enjoy a concert. Food vendors open at 6 pm – the concert starts at 7 pm and the fireworks follow at 9:15 pm. July 9th – City Park – 104th & Sheridan – Chris Daniels & the Kings
Chris Daniels & the Kings are Colorado’s ambassadors of soul. For more than 20 years Daniels and his band have entertained local music fans with a souped-up mix of jump blues, blue-eyed soul and horn-infused rock.
July 23rd – City Park – 104th & Sheridan – Wendy Woo & the Woo Crew
Wendy Woo is one of Colorado’s top performers. Her songs are wide-ranging in style but always pure in emotion, from down and dirty blues to summer day sambas to wistful ballads. Her guitar playing includes fretwork riffs so unusual they always generate cheers.
July 30th – City Park – 104th & Sheridan – Quemando
Quemando, one of Colorado’s premiere salsa bands, performs both traditional and contemporary salsa. This 11-piece orchestra features powerful vocals, an in-your-face four-piece horn section, and a solid percussion section consisting of timbales, conga, and bongo.
August 6th – Irving Street Library Park – 7392 Irving St. – CU Denver Claim Jumpers (presented by the Denver Jazz Club)
The CU Denver Claim Jumpers, a top instrumental group at CU Denver, unite to revive the beautiful art of Dixie Jazz. It only takes a few minutes to know that these are no ordinary college students – they are the best of the best!
Westminster Faire – Fun in the Sun
Saturday, August 15th from 10 am to 4 pm – City Park – 104th & Sheridan
“Wrap up” your summer with the Holy Cow Stampede, pancake breakfast, two stages of entertainment, inflatables, food, shopping, Touch-A-Truck, low-cost dog and cat vaccinations and a variety of vendor booths. North Metro Arts Alliance promises a variety of musical entertainment as you wander through the booths.
