The North Metro Arts Alliance
owns a collection of original paintings that is
displayed in public buildings throughout Adams County.
Ten years ago the NMAA (at the time known as the Westminster Community Artist Series) began purchasing art work for display in public buildings. This was the beginning of the NMAA Public Art Collection. The collection now contains 70 original paintings. These pieces of art are on display in public buildings in Adams County, the City of Westminster, Hyland Hills Park & Recreation Centers and the City of Federal Heights. A few of the specific locations where you see these paintings are the College Hill Library, the City of Westminster Recreation Centers and the Adams County Justice Center. Next time you happen to be in one of these buildings, look around. Our pictures are identified by a donation plaque mounted on the frame of the artwork.
If you know of a public building where you would like to see art work placed, please contact us at (303) 429-1999. We have several pieces not currently on display—and we try to rotate our pieces in order to give everyone a chance to see something different at each visit.
All art work was done by Colorado artists. The art work can be viewed at both Westminster public libraries, the Heritage Golf course clubhouse, the Westminster Senior Center, the Adams County Court House, the Westminster Court House, Hyland Hills Administration building, Adams District 50 Health Centers and administration building, the Westminster Rec Centers, and the Federal Heights City Hall.
